Grand Harbor is a gated club community on the mainland side of the lagoon with two golf courses, a deep-water marina inside the gates, and a private oceanfront Beach Club on the barrier island, all under one membership.
Grand Harbor sits on the western bank of the Indian River Lagoon along Indian River Boulevard, a few minutes north of the Merrill Barber Bridge. It is a gated, master-planned community of roughly 1,180 residences arranged among live oaks, salt marsh, freshwater lakes and the lagoon itself, and it has held Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary certification for more than twenty-five years.
Most communities here are a golf club, a beach club or a marina. Grand Harbor is all three; the beach is a ten-minute drive from the gates.
Grand Harbor Golf & Beach Club is member-owned, having transitioned from developer control in the early 2020s. The River Course, designed by Joe Lee, winds through salt marsh along the Intracoastal; its 14th hole has drawn international recognition. The Harbor Course is Pete Dye's links-style layout of tiered greens and deep pot bunkers framed by oaks and palms. Both were rebuilt in a recent $15 million first phase that also resurfaced ten Har-Tru tennis courts, added eight pickleball courts and renovated the Beach Club.
The marina is the amenity that separates Grand Harbor from the golf-only communities: a protected deep-water basin inside the gates, positioned between the Fort Pierce and Sebastian inlets for quick access to the lagoon and the Atlantic, with a ship's store on site. The Beach Club at 8500 Highway A1A on the barrier island has a heated pool, cabanas and a seafood restaurant with a sushi bar.
In April 2026 members approved a further $36 million program, including a 15,000-square-foot lifestyle and wellness center on the lagoon and a two-story dining addition to the 32,000-square-foot Mediterranean clubhouse.
Grand Harbor offers the widest range of any club community in Vero Beach: golf-view condominiums, townhomes and villas, single-family homes on the courses and the lakes, and estate homes on the marina and the river. Architecture is predominantly Mediterranean Revival, with newer neighborhoods introducing a more contemporary vocabulary. New construction is underway in several neighborhoods, from the upper $600,000s to riverfront villas well above $2 million; resale condominiums start below $500,000 and estate homes have traded around $3 million.
Downtown Vero Beach is ten minutes south, the beaches ten minutes east over the bridge, and Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital is on the same boulevard. Vero Beach Regional Airport is fifteen minutes away.
No. Club membership is separate from home ownership and offered in several categories, though without it you lose access to the courses, marina, Beach Club and dining. Some new-construction homes include a Sports Membership with purchase, subject to club approval.
The community is on the mainland side of the Indian River Lagoon. Its private oceanfront Beach Club is on the barrier island at 8500 Highway A1A, about ten minutes away.
Yes. The protected deep-water marina inside the gates accommodates vessels up to roughly six feet of draft, with the Fort Pierce and Sebastian inlets both within easy reach.
New neighborhoods by GHO Homes and others are under construction, and members approved a $36 million clubhouse and wellness-center program in 2026.
